Hair Loss And Premature Aging Can Be Due To Stress!

Hair Loss And Premature Aging Can Be Due To Stress!

Stress is a condition that triggers a particular biological response. When sudden stress is encountered, brain floods your the with chemicals and hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. The stress caused by depression, social isolation, long-term unemployment, anxiety attacks, etc, can speed up the aging process as it leads to shortening of the length of each DNA strand. The mere anticipation of stress can increase the risk of age-related disorders. Researchers found that those who felt most threatened by the stressful event exhibited greater signs of aging on the cellular level.

When the body is exposed to physical or emotional stress, the adrenal glands release extra steroids such as cortisol.

Stress also induces hair loss which is sometimes irreversible. Stress is often responsible for large portions of hair loss, where the hair typically falls out in ‘handfuls’. After hair has fallen out due to stress, it generally grows back, but in some cases, it does not and treatment can be required. In the condition of stress, the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles which causes hair loss. Hair pulling is also a way of dealing with negative or uncomfortable feelings, such as stress, tension, loneliness, boredom or frustration.

Developing healthy habits is important to aging well. Regular exercise helps in protecting the aging brain, and conversely, sleep deprivation can accelerate aging. And as individuals get older, good nutrition becomes increasingly important in how the body ages. Keeping stress from reaching extreme levels, nurturing the physical and emotional health, and treating the mind and body well, will all be reflected in the crowning glory of a person.

The vital factors like keeping stress from reaching extreme levels, nurturing the physical and emotional health, and treating the mind and body well, will all be reflected in the crowning glory of a person.
