Protein Mix

Ingredients for Protein Mix

  • 3 cups white oats
  • ½ cup oat or wheat bran
  • ½ cup french beans fine chopped and blanched
  • ½ cup mixed peppers red, yellow, green(optional)
  • 1 medium onion fine chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies deseeded and sliced
  • 1 tbsp almonds shredded
  • 1 tsp Ginger fine chopped
  • 2 stems curry Leaves
  • ½ tsp mustard & cumin seeds each
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp lemon juice (not in dinners)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Cilantro or fresh coriander leaves for garnish


  1. Roast white oats and bran until light brown and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan; add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and channa dal.
  3. Once they start spluttering, add ginger, green chillies and curry leaves.
  4. Stir and then add the onions.
  5. Once onions are translucent, add capsicums, beans and potatoes.
  6. Cover and let cook for 4-5 minutes on medium heat.
  7. Add the almonds to the above mixture.
  8. Season with salt & pepper, finally add the roasted white oats & bran and combine.
  9. If the oats start sticking to the pan just drizzle a little olive oil. (Add some water if required).
  10. At last, add lemon juice and mix well.
  11. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
