Superfood smoothie recipe are thick , creamy beverages usually blended from fruits ,vegetables ,nuts , oats, ragi, seeds ,and vegan milk.

Today we are going to discuss Vedique superfood smoothie –

Coco Almond Oats Smoothie

For this recipe we need following ingredients

1. Oats- 3 tsp roasted oats

2. Almonds – 10 soaked and peeled

3. Coconut milk (fresh) – 200ml

4. Dates – 2-3

5. Cinnamon powder – ¼ tsp

Method :

Blend all ingredients into the blender , blend it for 2-3 minutes. and your superfood smoothie is ready to drink. Ice is optional. You can also add protein powder of your choice to hike its benefits.

This is a superfood smoothie because

OATs help in managing weight, lower sugar levels, reduce inflammation and relax arteries so it improves heart health. They are a good source of complex carbs and proteins.

ALMONDS are rich in antioxidants , vitamin E, protein, magnesium and fibre, as they are rich in magnesium so also benefits blood pressure, it also helps in increasing the good cholesterol .

COCONUT MILK as this is rich in healthy fats so it stimulates weight loss and lowers the cholesterol. It has anti-inflammatory properties , strengthens the immune system , Lactose intolerant people can easily have this milk , which is rich in calcium too.

DATES are highly nutritious , it improves brain functionality, high in antioxidants, aids bowel movements, it contains several vitamins and minerals .Dates also aids in blood sugar regulation ,due to their low glycemic index, fibre and antioxidants .Thus by adding dates you can satisfy your sugar cravings without affecting your blood glucose level.

CINNAMON also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties ,lowers the blood sugar and reduces the risk of type 2 DM, it also improves insulin sensitivity. It aids digestion and lowers cholesterol levels .

In brief this superfood smoothie is best for weight loss , to control T2DM, dyslipidemia, PCOS etc. You can have this smoothie as a meal replacement or in mid morning or in evening snack to get desired nutrition.
